Sweeping into the Future: The Habring2 and MONOCHROME Unveil A Revolutionary Timepiece - the Montre de Souscription 4 Seconde Morte
Emerging as the fourth chronicle in the ongoing partnership between watch information platform MONOCHROME and acclaimed independent Austrian watchmaker Habring², the Montre de Souscription 4 Seconde Morte peeks into a fresh dimension of timekeeping majesty. This collaboration resonates deeply with the shared passion for independent watchmaking and underscores the symbiotic understanding between Maria and Richard Habring and MONOCHROME.
Unveiling the art of vintage detailing blended with Antiquity-inspired grandeur, the Montre de Souscription 4, or MdS4, offers an innovative take on Habring²’s Erwin model. Distinctively, the MdS4 features the so-called seconde morte or ‘deadbeat seconds’, a rarely-seen complication that refers to precision chronometry and nods to ancestral timepieces. This version of the watch is thoughtfully embellished with unprecedented additions, including a sublimely-crafted Art Deco dial designed by a young designer, Pietro Pilla, marking an auspicious debut into horological artistry.
Celebrating Habring²’s acclaimed complication, the jumping or deadbeat seconds, the Montre de Souscription 4 indicates the evolution of the manually-wound Felix model that debuted in 2014. An echo of the Chrono-Felix, the brand’s monopusher chronograph, the Montre de Souscription 4 Seconde Morte takes inspiration from its predecessor but also carves off its unique iteration in the horological world.
