The Monaco Legend Group's 2025 fall auction defied expectations, showcasing highly prized watches and shattering previous records.

After a breather from the vibrant auction scene in Monaco, the author found themselves back in the mix during the Monaco Legend Group’s Fall 2025 event. Against a backdrop of spirited bidding and envious glances, a record was set in stone as the Rolex ref. 6062 spectacularly toppled the prevalently renowned Bao Dai, with a staggering bid of €4.25 million placed on it. Despite such high-stakes bidding being a rarity, attending auctions offered attendees valuable insights into the tactics and major players within the industry. Moreover, it offered a unique viewing of impressive timepieces from both sales and collectors alike, supplementing to the learning curve.

Renowned watch collectors made their appearance, the likes of Mr. A wearing a dazzling Rolex Day-Date ref. 18148 covered with ruby and diamonds and Auro Montanari, sporting a Parisian Cartier Tank Rectangle on a magnificent 9-link bracelet.

Further feasts for the eyes included a trusty Rolex ref. 6264 ‘John Player Special’ Daytona worn by Deputy Chairman Corrado Mattarelli, an intriguing Cartier Tank Normale with yellow gold hands, and a distinct 18k gold oval-shaped Universal Genève from 1955 nabbed by Auro Montanari from dealer Philippe Colonna.
