A Grand Charity Auction: Nomos Set to Auction Rare Air France-Themed Watches for Aviation Sans Frontières
Charity takes wings with Nomos Glashütte, a revered watchmaker set to auction three special Air France-themed watches. The auction, conducted by Artcurial, concerns not just timepieces but unique experiences and items, all contributing to the noble cause driven by Aviation Sans Frontières (Aviation Without Borders). The aim – a bid to extend aid where it is needed the most.
Among the 30 or so lots are fascinating offerings, including a weightless flight aboard the Airbus Zero G and a captain’s uniform signed by none other than John Travolta. The star attractions, however, are the distinctive watches contributed by Nomos Glashütte. Well known for their sophisticated and efficient design, these watches not only exemplify the brand’s craft but their commitment toward impacting lives positively.
Sundry items from aeronautical history are available for purchase, such as an original fragment of a plane, a pilot’s helmet from the famous Patrouille de France, and even a T-shirt worn on a space mission. These will collectively aid the NGO, known for its crucial logistical support to several humanitarian actors, ensuring the prompt dispatch of aid and support globally.
Created specially for the French company Air France in 2023, the rare Nomos watches went on sale exclusively for Air France employees. However, Nomos saved the case number AF001 of each model for this charitable auction. Three exquisite pieces, an Orion 33 with a champagne dial, a Minimatik 35 with a silver dial and AF blue markers, and a Zürich Worldtime with a blue dial will go under the hammer, each bearing the symbolic winged seahorse of Air France.
This unique opportunity to own these rare watches while contributing to an esteemed cause is now open for online bidding – a testament to both the desire to change the world and the love of horology.
